James Wallman applies his experience and talents as a corporate Nostradamus to sniff out the coming revolution, and argues that good ole’Consumerism is Stuffocating under a mountain of crap that the newest generation––as well as many in the middle generations––are shoveling out from under, to create a world based on new values and new ways of measuring success, wealth, and status. An absolute must read for everyone on planet Earth.
If you are a business person or dreaming of opening a business, consider this new trend and read Wallman’s book. It would pay to do so because his day job is advising Fortune 500 companies on future trends, and he’s damned good at it. So if he says that the trend is towards Experientialism and away from consumerism it would be best to give that some thought in your business plans. Plus it’s more Hobbity anyway.
